Gloria’s Girls
Gloria Skapik lived a life of charity and integrity, and her spirit lives on in the work of The Bergel Institute. It is our honor to present a $2,000 award each January to a high school senior girl in the Institute’s home county of Palm Beach, Florida.
Despite a reputation of affluence, nearly half the households in Palm Beach County (46%) struggle to afford basic necessities. This award is given each year to an individual whose toughness and commitment are equaled by her strong values, discipline, and the adventurous spirit that characterized Gloria’s life. Gloria is forever a light in our lives, and this award ensures that light touches more and more of us in the years to come.
